Need a new Suspended Ceiling on the Gold Coast? Suspended Ceilings QLD are ceiling specialists that service the Gold Coast area. This article will cover one suspended ceiling fitout we completed in 2019.
The project
A local Gold Coast drafting business contacted us in need of a new suspended ceiling. The existing ceiling already in the office was old imperial design. Consequently, this means there are limited choices and availability for replacement panels. Furthermore, it means that current LED lights do not fit correctly in the grid system. Even when imperial components are available, it is often simply not cost-effective to use them. In the case of this suspended ceiling on the Gold Coast it was the same price to replace the entire ceiling in metric tiles, rather than just replacing the imperial tiles.
The installed system
The old drop ceiling was removed and safely disposed of. A new USG Boral 1200mm x 600mm exposed grid suspended ceiling now takes its place. USG Donn grid is the chosen grid type for this fitout. This is for several reasons. Firstly, the Donn system is a long-established ceiling grid, with a fantastic locking system. Secondly, the system has toolless disengage, which always comes in handy should your needs change. This is usually due to the addition or moving of lights due to changes in office layout. Finally, the system warranty is excellent, especially when used in combination with USG Boral ceiling panels. So what tile choice for our Suspended ceiling on the Gold Coast?
USG Impressions 1200mm x 600mm acoustic ceiling tiles are the tile of choice for this project. This tile is excellent value for money. Furthermore, this ceiling panel looks good and has decent acoustic performance.
